Bisset – Ancient
The Bisset Ancient tartan is a visually striking pattern that embodies the rich heritage of the Bisset family, one of Scotland’s ancient clans. This tartan features a deep and muted colour scheme that is characteristic of the ‘ancient’ variant of tartans, which aims to replicate the vegetable dye colours used in the past.
The primary colours of the Bisset Ancient tartan include scarlet, weathered green, and blue, complemented by accents of gold, black, and white. This combination not only reflects the traditional aesthetic associated with historical Scottish tartans but also adds a layer of depth and complexity to the design.
Traditionally, the Bisset tartan would have been worn by clan members for both everyday and ceremonial occasions, symbolising their familial identity and regional allegiance. Today, it serves as a poignant reminder of Scotland’s textile history and the enduring legacy of its clans.
